The children’s lessons collect nothing

There is no login on the children’s lessons and there never will be. No account, no name, no age, nothing typed in, nothing kept on our side.

We do not know which child used the site, or when, or what they got right.

What stays on your own phone

When a lesson is finished, your browser remembers it — which lesson, how many answers were right, and a running score. The same for whether you turned the music off.

That is kept by the browser on the device, in the same way a bookmark is. It is not sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes it, and nobody else can see it.

Two people sharing a phone share one record. That is the price of never asking anybody who they are.

If you sign in — and you never have to

Parents working through one of the adult courses are offered, after two finished lessons, the chance to sign in with Google so their progress is not lost when they change phones. It is an offer. Saying no costs nothing, and every lesson stays open either way.

If you do sign in, Google tells us three things: your first name, your email address, and an identifier for your account. We do not receive your password, and we never ask for one.

We then keep which lessons you finished, how you scored on them, your points and your badges. That is the whole of it.

We never record anything about your child against your account. The children’s lessons are not connected to it at all.

Deleting everything

If you have signed in, you can delete your account and everything stored with it. It happens immediately — there is no waiting period and nothing is kept behind.

Signing out is different, and does not delete anything: it only forgets you on that phone.

The videos

Lessons use videos from our YouTube channel. The picture you see before you press play is drawn by us and comes from this site, so YouTube is not contacted at all until you press it.

When you do press play, the video loads from YouTube and YouTube can see that. We use their no-cookie player, but once you are watching their video you are also subject to their terms, not only ours.

The feedback form

What you write in the feedback form is emailed to us. If you give a way to reply, that comes with it. It is not stored in any database and it is never used for anything but answering you.

What this site does not do

There is no advertising. Nothing is sold, rented or shared with anybody. There are no tracking scripts, no analytics and no third-party cookies — if you never sign in and never press play on a video, nothing about your visit leaves this site.

The lessons and the games are free and will not be put behind a sign-in.

Where it is kept

The site and its database run on Cloudflare. Like any website, their servers record the ordinary details of a request — the address it came from and the page asked for — which is how the internet works and not something we read or keep.
